Falling Leaves (Inkspirations #95)

Today I bring you a fun and very versatile sketch from the team at Inkspirations. I knew right away that I wanted to use my Spice Cake Suite products on this one.

I started with a Pear Pizzazz base and layered on various pieces of Spice Cake designer paper. I notched the top one like a banner but left the lower one the length of the card base. I then added a vertical strip of More Mustard which is stamped with one of the leaves from Gently Falling.

For the central panel, I stamped the large maple leaf and coloured it with the various colours from the Spice Cake Suite. I then used some Accent Ink around the outside to make it shimmer. If you look closely, you’ll see I also stamped the leaf (but the filler image) in Pool Party behind the popped up leaf.

A big ol’ Spice Cake button and a bow of ribbon, along with a few pearls, finishes off this card.

Make sure you check out what the rest of the extremely talented DT came up with!

Sweet Wedding Wishes (Inkspirations #87)

I’m super excited to share the first of many wedding related projects over the next little bit. A couple of weeks back my brother got married so I’ve got cards, boxes and of course table decor to share!

The latest Inkspirations Challenge sketch was the perfect starting point for this card which was made made for their shower. They did a Jack and Jill type shower where they both attended.

I started with a So Saffron card base and layered it with Soft Suede and then Spice Cake designer series paper (which is all sponged and lovely looking).

The central panel is again Soft Suede and it’s layered with some Pool Party cardstock which is embossed with the Elegant Lines embossing folder, sponged and tied with some Spice Cake Designer Fabric.

For the central panel, I glued some More Mustard cardstock on a piece of chipboard and cut it out using my Big Shot and the Scallop Circles Big Shot die.

Lastly, the centre circle (which is a 2 1/2″ circle) is stamped with an image and sentiment from Easy Events. I’ve watercoloured, sponged and spritzed this layer and even added some Dazzling Details to the little heart.

To finish it off, I tied a Spice Cake designer fabric bow, added some Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon and then an Antique Brad.

Thanks so much for stopping in today! As an added bonus, here is the box I made to hold the gift:

Now head on over to Inkspirations and see what the rest of the design team has done with this awesome sketch!

There is currently Early Bird Pricing on now…save $5 off the normal $34.95 price…$29.95 US for six weeks of daily posts and tutorials featuring the Holiday Mini.

Another great thing about Thursdays is the newest Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week, it’s all about colour!

For my card, I used Old Olive as my base and stamped the outline leaf from Gently Falling with Old Olive Ink. I did the same thing on the Basic Grey layer and then I put it in my Simply Scored and scored in some detail border lines. I then sponged them with Basic Grey ink to highlight them a bit.

The bottom of the card is some Spice Cake designer series paper which is roughed up a bit and sponged.

For the central bundle of fun, I used Gently Falling and cut out various leaves and an acorn. I nestled them in an embossed frame which is sponged and splattered using my Air Spritzer tool. Behind the leaves, I’ve added a Decorative Label that was stamped with an image from Four Frames and inside is a sentiment from Friendly Phrases.

To finish is all off, I added some Basic Grey Satin Ribbon and a Bitty Button backed with an Old Olive circle.

I thank you so much for stopping in and for all your patience while I get my new blog set up all up and running!

Now it’s your turn to head on over to Create with Connie and Mary and play along with us!
