Basically In Love – Inkspirations Challenge #59
This week at Inkspirations Challenge Blog there is an awesome sketch to try! I had just the occasion to work with also as a family member on my husband’s side recently announced their engagement. So, I surely think that is reason to make a card, don’t you?
First, here is the sketch from Keesh:
For my card, I wanted it to be clean and simple. I used the colour scheme of Basic Gray, Basic Black, Whisper White and Real Red.
To emulate bow ties or fancy clothes (sort of) I used my 5/8″ Basic Black grosgrain as the ties. They kinda look like bow ties to me! For the Basic Gray layer, I used my Love Letterpress plate and Basic Black Craft Ink. I just love that look – so clean and crisp.
For the two hearts, used the image from Always. One I embossed with black embossing powder on Real Red cardstock. The second, I stamped on Basic Black cardstock with Versamark, sprinkled with Heat and Stick powder and then sprinkled with red glitter. Yummy!
I then added the word “cherish” from Baroque Motifs with a little Basic Rhinestone. Clean and simple.
Hope you like it! Now head on over to the Inkspirations Challenge Blog and show us what you can do with this sketch!

Boxed with Love – Inkspirations Challenge #56
This week at the Inkspirations Challenge Blog, Keesh has got a great colour challenge for us all. At first I wasn’t sure where to go with this one but it quickly became clear to me! (this and I had to plan for my Mom & Me club and these projects were just perfect!).
First let’s start with the card:
I used the Love Letterpress plate and covered it with Basic Black Craft ink. I then ran it through the Big Shot with some Baja Breeze cardstock. Just love how it looks. I then layered that piece on some Cherry Cobbler and then onto a Whisper White card base.
For the little details, I added some 1 1/4″ Basic Black striped grosgrain, a Scalloped Heart (embosslit) and a the heart from Filled with Love punched out with the Full Heart Punch. I added a Bitty Button with a basic rhinestone and the “happy valentine’s day” saying from Teeny Tiny Wishes on Whisper White cardstock. This card just looks great in person.
Now for the little box:
This box was made using two 2″ x 10″ strips that were scored every 2″. Then folded upon each other to make this box. I stamped each side with the heart trio from I (heart) Hearts and on random ones I added a punched out version in Baja Breeze. The top sports a Basic Black Full Heart with a Jumbo Eyelet and a tie of Basic Black 5/8″ grosgrain. The tag is just a piece of the letterpress cut out and tied on.
Super cute. Super easy.
Now it’s your turn to head over to the Inkspirations Challenge Blog and show us what you’ve got! For more inspiration, check out the rest of the Design Team projects!
