In a Fabric Frenzy

Now the idea for this card was not exactly mine (shocking, huh?). I was inspired by a card I saw on the fabric demo station at Convention this year. The picture is to the right. See the vanilla card in the back with the two hearts? Well, I thought it was super cute and wanted to do something similar but not exactly the same. And I wanted it to be CAS (clean and simple).

I started with a Crumb Cake card base and added two strips of Deck the Halls designer paper. I love that the patterns match the Designer Fabric so well!

Then, I wanted to make two fabric hearts. So I used my Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit to cut them out. But before I ran them through my Big Shot, I added some Multi Purpose Adhesive to the backs of the fabric. These sheets are AWESOME! I have almost used up one whole pack already!

The Vanilla/Cherry Cobbler heart is adhered straight to the card base but I wanted the Always Artichoke one to stick out a bit more. So, I didn’t bother removing the backing of the Multi Purpose Adhesive and added dimensionals.

Next, I needed to add some embellishments, so I added a large Cherry Cobbler button from the Deck the Halls buttons which I tied with linen thread. And to the upper heart I added a Bitty Button backed in Cherry Cobbler and a little ruffle of Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon.

Lastly, and actually the first thing I picked for this card, is the sentiment. This particular one is from Contempo Christmas and this saying alone is why I bought this stamp set. I stamped it on Very Vanilla cardstock with Always Artichoke ink and away I went!

This card is one that I’ll be doing in an upcoming fabric class. You can read all about the class and see the other great projects by clicking on my classes and events tab or by clicking directly here!

Got Class?

Yippee! I am SO EXCITED! It is almost time for my very first Holiday Card Class! And, this class is pretty special and it helps you get a head start on your holiday card planning and making.

This class will take place on Tuesday, August 17th at 7pm at my place – last year this class sold out very quickly so please make sure you get your spot early.

Okay, why so popular? Heres why!

I have 5 cards prepared and everyone will make one of each. At the end of the class, everyone will get a colour PDF emailed with the products used and the measurements of each card. But, even better is that I’ve put kits together so participants of the class can purchase the items needed and get a little bonus for doing so! Colours can be changed in the kits if someone wishes but these cards are too stinkin’ cute to change! Check out the photo for a sneak peek on what we’ll be making!

If you live in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia and need an excuse to craft – contact me to join in my class! If you live in Canada and can’t make the class, you can participate for $15 + $2 for shipping and I’ll make the cards and send them to you – you’ll even have the opportunity to shop the class kits too!

And, with Stampin’ Up! having a hostess special on right now, if we reach $450 in sales, I’ll raffle off the extra $35 in FREE MONEY!

Please RSVP by August 10th to reserve your spot – however, I always make a couple of extra packages so if you can’t let me know until the last minute, there may still be space!

So please contact me with any questions or to sign up for the class!

Oh Teacher, My Teacher

The time is NOW people to get those thank yous made for the Teachers, Coaches and Instructors that have been helping shape our kids for the past many months!

At our school we have a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon coming up soon and I always make the favours (photo coming soon) but thought it’d be nice to offer up a class to other parents so they too may take the time to make a hand-stamped thank you. Above are the cards we’ll be making at this class – but there is a twist!

  • On Thursday, May 27th, I’ll be hosting this class at either 9:30am or 7:00pm (your choice of start time).
  • The cost is $10 for 4 cards and $2 for each additional card.
  • The twist? From the photo above, you can pick which 4 cards you wish to make. You may not have a coach but you’ve got two teachers so mix it up!
  • I’ll need all RSVPs with card selection by May 25th at 5pm. NO LATER PLEASE as I’ll have to cut everything and have your packages ready to go!

Don’t live here and want a set of cards for yourself? Or, just can’t make the class? Purchase the cards at the pricing above and they will be completed for you and shipped the next day! Add an additional $2.50 for shipping to the total card amount please! Again, I must have your order by May 25th at 5pm. Thank You!
