A Vintage Christmas (CCMC168)

This week at Create with Connie and Mary, there is an AMAZING sketch challenge to play along with!

I decided to use the new Christmas Lodge stamp set and the Pines and Poinsettas for accents. The base of my card is Blushing Bride and I’ve got it layered with Early Espresso and then Very Vanilla Designer Paper. On the Very Vanilla layer I stamped the swirl from Always Elegant, sponged all the edges with Early Espresso and added some Basic Pearls.

In keeping with the sketch, I added three horizontal panels:  one is Very Vanilla Designer paper layered with Chantilly lace trim, one is Quilted Early Espresso ribbon and the last is Early Espresso punched cardstock threaded with Blushing Bride cardstock.

I embossed the Christmas Lodge stamp with Clear Embossing powder and then sponged around it with Blushing Bride ink. I then stamped the sentiment from Pines and Poinsettias in Early Espresso ink over the tree. I cut out the Christmas from Pines and Poinsettias and affixed with dimensionals.

This is really a gorgeous card in person – sometimes photography just doesn’t do cards justice.

Thanks for stopping by today and head on over to Create with Connie and Mary and play along!
